The Research and Innovation Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a full‑time (1.0 WTE) officer to contribute to the NIHR Leeds Clinical Research Facility. The role will deliver the annual PPIE plan, manage the RIDERS commercial programme, and coordinate Research Champions and PPIE Advisory Groups across multiple disease specialities.

Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver NIHR Leeds CRF annual PPIE plan, focusing on engagement with underserved groups.
  • Manage the RIDERS (Research & Innovation Document Engagement and Review Service) commercial programme, providing patient/public review of research documents for pharmaceutical companies.
  • Coordinate volunteer Research Champions and PPIE Advisory Groups across disease specialities.
  • Ensure high standards of patient and public involvement in planning, delivery, safety, and satisfaction, and comply with Trust policy, NIHR requirements, PPIE guidance and legislation.
  • Collaborate with NIHR, local government public health teams, voluntary sector partners and community organisations to coordinate public engagement activities at local and regional levels.
  • Deliver outreach programmes that foster engagement with underserved populations.
  • Manage diverse project teams and deliver complex, multi‑partner initiatives within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain full compliance with NIHR frameworks and Trust policies.
