Pharmacy Aseptics is a truly unique environment to work in, with career progression at its heart. We are a specialist branch of Pharmacy that works tirelessly behind the scenes, ensuring life‑changing and lifesaving medications and treatments are prepared. This particular role is pivotal to achieving this.
Location
This position is based across our two Aseptic stores, at the LGI and SJUH.
Responsibilities
- The main fundamentals of the role are to ensure all stock is maintained across both sites.
- To manage and monitor the efficient purchasing of drug inventory, to ensure minimal wastage whilst maintaining a reliable and effective service.
- To manage the progression of overdue orders and the timely collation and dissemination of information relating to drug supply problems.
- To provide support to the Specialist Technician in the sourcing of new or alternative product supply, the purchase of unlicensed medicines and to assist in the implementation of new drug contracts and policy changes.
This is a challenging role where we require an individual that is organised, composed, dynamic and has great attention to detail. Communication and interpersonal skills are vital, having demanding conversations with suppliers is a daily task. The position is also physically demanding, lifting and handling heavy items is a daily occurrence.

Qualifications
- Proven computer literacy and keyboard skills.
- Supervisory qualification or relevant experience.
- HNC level knowledge or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience of managing computerised stock control and purchasing procedures.
- Understanding of the operational requirements of purchasing and supply.
- Experience of dealing with a wide variety and grade of hospital and external agencies staff.
- Experience of pharmaceutical procurement.
- Understanding of audit requirements, legal and statutory controls.
- Understanding of strategic purchasing and supply chain management.
