An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and proactive Band 5 Patient Services Coordinator to join the Vascular Surgery team within Trauma Related Services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust at Leeds General Infirmary for a 12 month fixed term basis for maternity leave cover.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely alongside an experienced Patient Services Coordinator who oversees acute admissions as well as providing managerial support to the secretarial staff and responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the patient administration service. Applicants should have a broad spectrum of patient administration skills and be able to demonstrate understanding of the patient administration processes within LTHT.

Responsibilities

This is a pivotal role within a busy and high performing service. The successful candidate will play a central part in managing outpatient activity, supporting the wider administrative team, and helping to coordinate care for our high risk patients awaiting surgery. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining our Referral to Treatment (RTT) trajectory during this period with support from the Business Manager.

  • Good general standard of education
  • A management or supervisory qualification

Experience

  • Experience of managing a team of administration staff
  • Experience of managing a waiting list, including familiarity with PTLs
  • Experience of working with clinicians
  • Experience of service re-design
