Main duties of the job:
- The post holder will work closely with clinical scientists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document and maintain accurate records of work carried out on imaging equipment in the management database.
- Book jobs for QA surveys.
- Manage departmental documentation and handle correspondence (email and phone).
- Manage and procure items required by section staff and dispatch/receive equipment used by the section staff.
- Carry out minor repairs and checks on equipment items as agreed with the team lead.
- Primarily based at LGI but involve work at other LTHT sites.
What you will bring to the role:
- Work in a team jointly responsible for supporting technical and scientific staff.
- Schedule visits to equipment, ensure spare parts availability, book incoming jobs, communicate work to appropriate team members, and accurately attach external servicing requirements to the equipment management database.
- Manage and procure a stock of spare parts for repair and service work on a broad range of imaging equipment.
- Accept incoming items for service or repair, enter details into the equipment management database, and add to the appropriate team member’s job queue.
- Manage the goods inward area for the department, check delivery notes and box contents, and accept or reject items as necessary (both spare parts and new imaging equipment).
- Maintain the equipment inventory database, register new equipment, assemble trolleys and stands, and record work performed.
- Carry out initial commissioning and acceptance testing on a limited range of new equipment.
- Pack and protect imaging and test equipment sent out of the department via a carrier.
- Propose changes to operational policies that impact the area.
- Write technical procedures for the area.
