Consultant - in O&G (Maternal Medicine/HROC)
We are looking for 2 individuals to fill these new Obstetrics posts at the Leeds General Infirmary and St. James University Hospital. The post includes a 1:10 obstetric on call commitment currently, but this post is part of a significant expansion and so this frequency will be adjusted accordingly once all appointments are concluded. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and growing Obstetric team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Consideration will be given to applicants who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share. Main duties of the job
Leeds maternity services are a busy, research active tertiary centre providing regional obstetric services including specialist fetal medicine, maternal medicine and placenta accreta services to much of North and West Yorkshire. The LGI is co‑located with a Level 3 surgical (incl cardiac) NNU. The successful applicant should hold Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists MRCOG (or equivalent) and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointment regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register. Applicants should have established skills in Obstetrics and appropriate experience of maternal medicine and high‑risk obstetric care. Excellent communication and team‑working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential. Applicants should have completed SITMs/ATSMs appropriate to this specialist interest.
