We have an exciting opportunity for 2 Assistant Patient Services Coordinators to join the Children's hospital. As part of a friendly and supportive administrative and managerial team, you'll lead the administration and clerical teams, work closely with clinical staff, and play a key role in delivering outstanding patient care. We're seeking enthusiastic, team-oriented individuals with strong leadership skills who can inspire their teams to achieve positive and successful outcomes. This role offers both rewarding challenges and the chance to make a real difference. Located at Leeds General Infirmary, you will join a collaborative team of Assistant Patient Services Coordinators and Patient Services Coordinators, working together to manage the operational workforce and delivery of trust goals. For the successful candidate, flexible working options are available, including condensed hours and hybrid working. Main duties of the job:

  • The Assistant PSC will provide a high-quality service in line with Trust standards and be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people, including medical staff, patients, and other colleagues.
  • You will support the Patient Services Co-ordinator and the Business Manager in delivering the services for the specialty.
  • The Assistant PSC will manage their defined areas within the specialty and will be responsible for prioritising tasks, delegating work, creating strong communication networks, developing staff, and reviewing working practices to ensure the effective running of the department.
  • As the Assistant PSC you will ensure that processes and procedures comply with legislation requirements covering Health & Safety, Data Protection and Confidentiality.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Good standard of education at a minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) level in Maths and English.
  • Experience: Thorough knowledge of patient administration processes and systems, Knowledge of NHS RTT pathways, Experience of staff management including recruitment, retention and HR processes, Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages and e-mail technology, Understanding of data confidentiality and information governance policies.
  • Skills & behaviours: Professional attitude to work, diplomatic and calm under pressure, Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, Ability to prioritise and organise own workload and adhere to deadlines, Ability to motivate staff, Exceptional customer/patient service skills.
