The predicted salary is between 46300 - 52800 £ per year.

We are looking to fill a substantive 10‑person‑annual Clinical Oncology Consultant post at St James University Hospital with a special interest in Lung and Breast cancers. The role involves delivering systemic therapy and radiotherapy, supporting established multidisciplinary non‑surgical teams across Leeds Cancer Centre and partner trusts.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead Lung and Breast outpatient clinics
  • Provide radiotherapy and systemic therapy management
  • Participate in specialist MDT and QA meetings
  • Deliver inpatient care for Lung patients
  • Contribute to the on‑call rota (currently 1:26)
  • Engage in research, teaching and service development

Job responsibilities

The successful candidate should:

  • Hold an FRCR qualification (or equivalent) and be listed on the Specialist Register or within six months of completing CCT
  • Demonstrate established clinical oncology skills with focus on Lung and Breast cancers
  • Show a strong commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
  • Have an active or desirable research interest
  • Be willing to work full‑time, part‑time or job‑share as required
