Leeds Sailing and Activity Centre (LSAC) is seeking motivated individuals with outdoor activity instructing experience to join our team. - RYA Assistant Dinghy Sailing Instructor or higher
- RYA Start Windsurf Instructor or higher
- RYA Powerboat Instructor
- Paddlesport Instructor or equivalent
- SUP Coach/Instructor or Leadership Qualification
- RYA Safety Boat
- Bell Boat Helm Award
- Off Road biking Instructor/Leader
- British Rowing Session Coach or higher
- Archery GB Instructor Award
- MLTE Rock Climbing Instructor or Climbing Wall Instructor
- Valid current First Aid Qualification

Job Purpose
Deliver safe, high-quality outdoor activity programs for all ages and abilities, develop and promote activities, and maintain a positive image of Leeds City Council.
Responsibilities
- Deliver accessible, high-quality coaching sessions.
- Promote activities on and offsite.
- Follow codes of conduct and safety guidelines.
- Support talented young people and overcome participation barriers.
- Complete administrative tasks like registers and risk assessments.
- Help establish junior clubs and develop new programs.
- Visit and promote LSAC in schools and at events.
- Adhere to council policies including equality, child protection, and health & safety.
Qualifications
Current valid First Aid qualification.

- One of the listed instructor qualifications (e.g., RYA, paddlesport, SUP).
Essential requirements
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and evaluative skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, independently, and as part of a team.
- Experience working with diverse groups, including those with special needs.
- Knowledge of safety, risk assessments, and development initiatives.
- Experience instructing outdoor activities and supervising groups.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
