West Yorkshire Joint Services (WYJS) is set within a unique and diverse urban complex with five West Yorkshire local authorities – Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield. Located at the heart of the UK, West Yorkshire has an abundant history and is a major commercial and cultural centre. For over thirty years, WYJS has delivered a range of diverse shared services on behalf of the five West Yorkshire local authorities. These services either fulfil a statutory role such as Archaeological Advisory Services, Archives, Ecology Services and Trading Standards or provide a first-class commercial resource, delivering vital services to local and national businesses.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual with proven abilities in Local Authority financial management who can demonstrate an ability to manage resources effectively. The role involves leading on the provision of all aspects of revenue and capital budget monitoring, forecasting and reporting. You will be responsible for providing professional Financial and Management accounting support to Budget Holders and Managers within West Yorkshire Joint Services. You will lead and be responsible for the cost benefit analysis of all projects, including the financial and investment appraisal of major capital developments. The postholder will also be responsible for managing the delivery of the Facilities Management function across all WYJS sites.
