Do you have experience working in a prop department and knowledge of working with a variety of construction methods and materials? If so, you could be our new Deputy Props Manager.
This role may be particularly suitable for a talented individual who has developed through early stages of their career and is ready to move up in to the role of Deputy Props Manager, to further grow and enhance their skills.
The Deputy Props Manager will assist and support the Props Manager with the management and operational duties of the Leeds Playhouse Props team, which is part of the Scenic Workshop department. This role involves specific responsibilities for prop making, painting, and finishing of scenery and furniture using various materials for Leeds Playhouse shows, events, and projects.
The Deputy Props Manager should have a good all-round understanding of construction methods, materials, and finishing techniques. The role will also include administrative duties necessary to maintain organised props support.
The Deputy Props Manager is a key role within the Production directorate and will maintain effective working relationships with all other departments within Leeds Playhouse.
This is a full time, permanent contract of 40 hours per week over 5 days. Our Scenic Workshops are primarily operational Monday to Friday, however evening and weekend work will be required. Pay for this role is £27,648 per year, plus UK Theatre/ BECTU commercial get-outs and overtime payments.
