Leeds GATE is an award-winning civil society organisation with a national profile, recognised for innovative, brave and creative work. We aim to improve the quality of life for Gypsies and Travellers by addressing inequalities in homes, health, education, employment, financial and social inclusion.
In this role you will build trusted relationships with Leeds GATE members, residents and families living on the Heath Common local authority site (Wakefield), yards, houses and roadside across the Wakefield district and Calderdale Borough. Gain understanding of people’s strengths, interests and hobbies, and the needs for support, barriers and issues faced by Gypsies and Travellers.
Help develop and create opportunities to engage the community through activities and group work, empowering people, building confidence and improving health and wellbeing outcomes. Work within Leeds GATE’s Values and support safeguarding of children and adults at risk. All staff are required to work within and are supervised on Leeds GATE’s Values.
