Leeds Federated is a housing association with around 4,500 properties across Leeds, Wakefield, and North Yorkshire. Our mission is to enable the maximum number of people to access and live sustainably in good-value, affordable housing.

The Vacancy: We are looking for Board Members to fill vacant posts due to current Board Members standing down at the AGM in September having completed their full term on the Board. The impact of the cost of living crisis is well documented and highlights how social housing is as important as ever. At the same time, we are having to deal with significant changes to the way we operate as a sector. The Board is at the forefront of addressing those challenges for Leeds Federated. Our social purpose is clear - 'to help people make a home'. It is supported by our values of Passion, Honesty and Curiosity and our strategies of Thrive, Engage and Evolve.

We are looking for people who can embrace our social purpose and are passionate about making a difference for our customers. The particular skills and experience we require at this time are around regeneration and asset management, development and Net Zero Carbon Strategies. As our association continues to evolve and respond to both environmental and community needs, we are keen to appoint individuals who can offer strategic perspective and informed guidance in these areas. We recognise that technical skills must be underpinned by strong values. Therefore, we also welcome applications from individuals who may not have direct experience in these fields but who are deeply aligned with our vision, values, and purpose.

As a Board member you will contribute at a strategic level across all aspects of the business. There will be opportunities for you to learn about new areas of work, to develop new skills and be part of a team which is passionate about the communities it serves.

If you wish to have an informal discussion about the role, please email our Company Secretary Megan Henderson. There will be a Board meeting on 12th August and the successful applicant will be invited to attend this meeting as an observer prior to being appointed to the Board at the Annual General Meeting in September.
