Overview
In this role you will lead the communications and marketing for Adoption England, guiding a national strategy in collaboration with Regional Adoption Agencies. You’ll shape campaigns to raise awareness, recruit adopters, and share learnings across the sector, while chairing the Marketing and Communications Stakeholder Group. You’ll manage a small team, work with partners and external suppliers, and provide expert counsel on media, reputation, and sensitive issues. This is a chance to drive measurable impact through data‑driven campaigns and cross‑sector collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Chair the national marketing and communications stakeholder group
- Lead and develop the marketing and communications team
- Develop and deliver the national recruitment campaign and strategy
- Commission and manage external providers for campaigns
- Advise senior leaders on media, reputation, and communications issues
- Plan and monitor budgets and resources for value for money
- Produce reports and presentations for senior stakeholders
- Analyse data and evaluate campaign impact to inform strategy
- Coordinate cross‑organisational projects to deliver strategic goals
- Engage with partners and stakeholders to share learning and best practice
Key requirements
- In-depth knowledge of marketing and communications for adopter recruitment
- Experience in public relations and reputation management
- Senior leadership and management experience
- Strategic and operational resource management
- Ability to use data, insight and evaluation to inform decisions
- Experience of working across organisational boundaries and with diverse stakeholders
- Strong relationship-building with Council Members, partners and people with lived experience
- Understanding of local government political systems and compliance with regulations
