Leeds City College are recruiting for a Teacher – Motor Vehicle to join our team at Printworks Campus.
We are seeking to appoint three dynamic and self-motivated teachers to the permanent/full-time Teacher position in Motor Vehicle. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding area of the curriculum that boasts continued learner success and achievement.
As an experienced Motor Vehicle teacher, you will be required to teach learners across all modes of attendance and across all the levels of Motor Vehicle (this includes level 1 up to L3 and apprentices). You will be required to teach the following types of programmes:
• 16-18-year-old Study Programmes
• 19 plus learners who are on Study programmes
• Apprenticeships
The suitable candidate will provide an excellent learning experience to ensure the individual learner gains the appropriate skills in readiness for further study, employment and an or an apprenticeship.
What You Will Do
The successful candidate must have a passion for Motor Vehicle and the ability to enthuse and motivate young technicians of the future. Previous experience of working with young people would be advantageous. You must have the drive, determination and desire to make a difference to young people\’s lives through education.
- Prepare and teach on a range of Motor Vehicle Service, (PHEV, Electrical Vehicle,) and Repair courses;
- Contribute to aspirational teaching, learning and assessment.
- Keep accurate records for learners’ progress in College.
About You
- The ideal candidate will hold a Motor Vehicle qualification or equivalent qualification or must have a minimum of 2 years of trial experience.
- You must hold a full teaching qualification or be willing to work towards the teaching qualification.
- To have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to effectively motivate and inspire others.
- Be a good team player with a flexible approach to working hours, as some evening work will be required and the ability to undertake the associated administration tasks.
