Leeds City College are recruiting for a Teacher of Health and Social Care to join our Health Science and Social Care team. We have four positions available:
- 2 x Full time, Permanent
- 1 x Part time – 22.2 hours per week, Permanent
- We are also looking for a cover supervisor on a full time, permanent basis.

The roles will be predominately teaching on the level 3 curriculum. The cover supervisor role will work across the different curriculums within the school of health science. This will involve planning, marking and being flexible to meet need.
We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Health and Social Care Teachers to work across our curriculum provision. The role is open to qualified teachers with a variety of backgrounds, such as Health/Applied Sciences, Sport Sciences, Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology and other related disciplines.
You will be joining an experienced, supportive team with a strong commitment to sharing ideas and resources .As a teacher, you will take responsibility for an element of curriculum provision, planning schemes of work and developing resources. You will also act as a personal tutor for a group of learners who will also comprise one of your teaching groups. Applications from experienced teachers, as well as those newer to the profession are welcome; we will be seeking to appoint a teacher with the greatest ability, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in the classroom
We offer courses from Entry 3 to Level 3 for young people and adults who want to progress into the health and social care sector. We are an outstanding department with highly committed and supportive staff.
What You Will Do

Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.

Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.

Be responsible for recording student progress.

Motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.

Ensure high retention, achievement, progress, attendance, and progression rates.

Maintain effective and high-quality course delivery.

Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.

Deliver knowledge, prepare teaching plans, and assess student work with timely feedback.

Keep the team updated on subject knowledge and best practices.

Inspire students to achieve and track their progress.

Enhance curriculum delivery for maximum effectiveness.

Promote courses and provide advice during open days and enrolment.

Conduct self-assessments, maintain quality plans, and verify/moderate internally.
About You

Experience, knowledge and skills to enable delivery of a range of levels across the curriculum.

Experience of positively managing student and group progression, advice and guidance in a school or Further Education setting, with positive outcomes

The ability to plan and deliver quality teaching across identified cohorts and ensure consistency of high delivery within teams

The ability to lead activities in the development and delivery of strategies to improve retention, achievement, success and attendance rates for groups of learners

Exceptional verbal /written communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent organisational skills, to ensure deadlines are met and progress in achieving results from learners and team members.
