Leeds City College are recruiting for a Science Teacher to join our outstanding 14+ Academies team. We are seeking a passionate, talented and supportive individual to support our learners.
The 14+ Academies is a safe and inclusive environment that is accepting of everyone. The design and ethos of the 14+ Academies allows young people to flourish with smaller class sizes, a reduced curriculum, and focus on vocational based learning. What You Will Do
The main duties of the role will include but not be limited to the following:
- Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources, learning and assessment plans.
- Update, reflect and maintain the 14+ Academies tracking systems continuously, allowing you to recognise the need for interventions and subsequently putting them in place.
- Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
- Work within the 14+ Academies ethos and culture as well as using relevant tools and concepts such as the effort descriptors and APLs (Academy Progress Levels).
- Set targets with individual learners to assist in their academic or development progress, including at Personal Progress Days and the writing of parent/carer reports.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Experience and knowledge of supporting young people both academically and developmentally, including those aged 14-16.
- Recent teaching delivery in relevant subject areas.
- Experience of positively managing learner academic progress in an education setting, including those aged 14-16.
- Ability to work positively and effectively as a member of a team and on own initiative.
