Leeds City College are recruiting for an English Teacher to join our team at Printworks Campus. We can be flexible with the working hours for this role; however, there would be a requirement to work Mondays due to departmental weekly team meetings. Options include:
- Part time for a minimum of 22 hours over 3 days per week (0.6 FTE)
- Reduced year 37 hours per week for 38 weeks - we would also consider reduced year with part time hours (e.g. 22 hours per week for 38 weeks).
There will be opportunities for additional hours over the course of the year to cover absence and/or provide extra intervention classes and support. This role is ideal for someone with experience teaching English Language GCSE, wanting some flexibility and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of learners re-sitting English alongside their vocational programmes. It may well suit someone who has worked in high schools and would appreciate a move into post-16 in a teaching role with fewer cross-school additional responsibilities and a wider network of English specialist teachers for support and collaboration.
The successful candidate will report to the Campus Deputy Head of English and Maths and will be teaching learners from different vocational areas, including the School of Hair, Beauty & Media Makeup and the School of Digital Technologies. Lessons are 90 minutes in length and class sizes tend to be between 15 - 25 learners. This role is based at our Printworks campus, located in the Southbank area of Leeds, providing a striking backdrop for students to learn and train in realistic, industry-standard environments. We are a vibrant campus with a successful reputation. We are passionate about what we do.
