Luminate Education Group is recruiting for two Safeguarding Team Leaders to join our Student Life team.

We have two full time vacancies:

  • 1 x Permanent Role
  • 1 x 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

The Student Life team is responsible for the personal development, behaviour and attitude of all our Further Education students.

We directly deliver services to students - safeguarding, mental health and wellbeing are at the centre of what we do. The safeguarding team sits within the wider student life team and we work closely with curriculum departments to ensure arrangements are in place to effectively safeguard students and maintain and promote a culture of vigilance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, articulate and adaptable individual who embraces restorative and relational approaches in their every day practice.

What You Will Do
  • Work with the Safeguarding Manager and Safeguarding Leadership Team to promote a culture of vigilance, ensuring a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors while supporting the organisations strategic safeguarding objectives.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of specialist Stay Safe Officers across Luminate campuses, providing line management, coaching, appraisals and performance oversight.
  • Manage and support safeguarding casework, including complex referrals, crisis interventions, case management, and escalation to external agencies.
  • Oversee safeguarding records, audits, and quality assurance processes to ensure compliance, consistency, and best practice.
  • Coordinate student access to safeguarding and wellbeing support, working with internal teams and external partners to deliver effective interventions.
  • Provide expert safeguarding advice, training, and guidance to staff while driving initiatives that enhance student safety, wellbeing, and engagement.
About You
  • Degree or equivalent higher level qualification
  • A recognised qualification or significant experience of working in a relevant area including safeguarding, pastoral support, health and wellbeing, social care, IAG, education or management
  • Completed Designated Safeguarding Officer training at Level 2 or above.
  • Ability to monitor the recording and reporting of safeguarding referrals on campus, using appropriate client record and MIS systems including CPOMS, ensuring processes are followed
