About The Role

At Luminate Education Group, we’re transforming how we support our staff and learners through compassionate, relational practices that build, maintain, restore and repair relationships. The Relational Practice Coach is a new role, with a focus on direct work with young people to increase learner participation in our approach. You will design and deliver training, coaching, focus groups and one to one support working with learners and staff, embedding our relational approach across the Group and strengthening relationships across our whole college community. You will have the opportunity to assist with youth participatory research to amplify learner voice, to influence the FE Relationships and Behaviour Policy and to promote our relational college culture. We are looking for a compassionate, supportive and reflective team member for this role who prioritises relationships and is passionate about this approach.

What You Will Do

  • Develop creative and engaging campaigns and initiatives for learners and staff which embed and promote inclusive behaviour and cultivate positive relationships.
  • Work with learners across curriculum departments to develop their knowledge and application of relational practice.
  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of workshops and awareness raising with learners to embed peer-to-peer restorative and relational practice.
  • Work with other Student Life team members and the Relational Practice Team to deliver training/ coaching for staff in Relational (Restorative and Trauma Informed) approaches.
  • Consult with learners, student parliament, students union, coaches and curriculum staff to improve engagement with relational and trauma informed processes across different curriculum departments.
  • Play an active role in youth participatory research the department conducts around relational practice, inclusion and belonging.

About You

You will be a reflective, empathic practitioner who is passionate about direct work with young people and adults and understands the importance of building, maintaining, repairing and restoring relationships in an Education Setting. You will be passionate about inclusion, creating a sense of belonging and be a confident communicator and advocator for our learners. You will be comfortable delivering facilitated learning to groups of learners and skilled at creating resources and activities, working with students and staff in a solution focused and collaborative way.
