Leeds City College is seeking to appoint a newly created role within our School of Travel, Food and Drink: Programme Manager for Travel and Aviation. This position has been introduced in response to significant growth in learner numbers, and the provision is expected to continue expanding in the coming years. As Programme Manager, you will therefore play a key role in supporting further growth and the ongoing development of courses across the curriculum area.
This is an exciting and pivotal leadership role, responsible for driving the continued success and development of our Travel, Aviation and Cabin Crew provision. You will lead on maintaining high standards across teaching, learning, and assessment, ensuring that learners receive an innovative, industry-led curriculum that reflects current industry practices and expectations.
As Programme Manager, you will provide strong operational and curriculum leadership across the department, supporting staff performance, quality improvement and learner outcomes. You will line manage Travel and Aviation teaching staff, fostering a positive and ambitious team culture that motivates colleagues to deliver outstanding teaching and an exceptional student experience. You will also play a key role in curriculum planning, quality assurance, staff development, and building new employer partnerships and industry links to further enhance and enrich the curriculum offer for learners.
The team brings a wealth of industry expertise, skills, and knowledge, which enriches our teaching, learning and assessment practices. Working collaboratively with the team, you will ensure students are equipped with the skills, confidence and professional behaviours required to progress successfully within the travel and aviation industry.
What You Will Do
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Travel and Aviation curriculum area.
- Lead, manage and develop teaching staff, ensuring high performance and continuous professional growth.
- Drive high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across all programmes.
- Oversee curriculum planning, delivery, and ongoing review from Level 1 to Level 3.
- Ensure strong quality assurance processes are in place and acted upon effectively, including IQA/EQA activities.
- Manage learner attendance, achievement, and progression, ensuring positive outcomes.
- Develop and expand employer engagement, industry partnerships, and curriculum links.
- Contribute to departmental growth through the development of new courses and provision areas and monitor performance data and implement improvement strategies where required.
