Leeds City College are seeking an inspirational and dynamic Programme Manager for Hairdressing and Barbering with a specialist background in the industry to lead and manage our curriculum delivery. You will play a key role in driving curriculum development, quality improvement, learner outcomes, and progression pathways across Hairdressing and Barbering programmes. As Programme Manager, you will oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of courses, working closely with teaching staff to ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment. You will also support the development of industry-relevant skills, employer partnerships, and enrichment opportunities for learners.
What You Will Do
- Lead, manage and support curriculum teams across Hairdressing and Barbering.
- Drive quality improvement in teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Oversee curriculum planning, timetabling, and learner progress monitoring.
- Develop innovative and industry-relevant programmes, with a strong focus on Barbering.
- Build strong links with employers, industry bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Support recruitment, retention, and achievement targets.
- Ensure all quality assurance processes are followed, including internal verification and standardisation.
- Lead on staff development and performance management within the programme area.
About You
- A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- A relevant vocational qualification in Hairdressing/Barbering or Beauty at Level 3 or above.
- Experience delivering and managing Barbering and/or Hair programmes in an FE or training environment.
- Strong people management skills, with a proven track record of driving a team to excellence.
- Excellent understanding of current industry trends and qualification frameworks.
- Proven experience in curriculum leadership and quality assurance.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
