This is a part-time role: 29.6 hours per week. We are currently recruiting an Employee Relations Advisor to join our busy, friendly and supportive HR Team. This is a great opportunity to make your mark and be involved in the transformation of our service. Our HR Department provides support and guidance to staff and managers on a wide range of HR-related issues/activities. We work together to find a workable solution, are a collaborative team, and are excited to welcome new talent.
Actual salary for the 29.6 hours per week commencing at £28,868 with progression to £30,062 per annum. Please apply for this role as soon as possible as the role may close before the advertised closing date.
What You Will Do
- Provide professional ER advice and support to managers and staff on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage and support employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management, and workplace conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, education sector regulations, and organisational policies.
- Support and coach managers in handling ER matters effectively and confidently.
- Conduct investigations, hearings, and mediation sessions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all ER cases.
- Support change management processes, including restructures, TUPE transfers, and organisational development initiatives.
About You
- CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards) or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience in managing a variety of ER cases, ideally within an education or public sector setting.
- Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with managers, employees, and key stakeholders.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and complex situations with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
