In the heart of the city’s cultural quarter, Leeds Conservatoire is a contemporary conservatoire preparing students for successful careers in the creative industries.
About The Role
In the heart of the city’s cultural quarter, Leeds Conservatoire is a contemporary conservatoire preparing students for successful careers in the creative industries.
Although the contract is zero hours we estimate around 6 hours per week over 22 weeks per year, dependant on student numbers.
The conservatoire wishes to appoint a Jazz Lecturer to deliver exceptional jazz technique and dance skills training across the Musical Theatre programmes.
The dance lecturer will be responsible for the delivery of skills classes in their subject specialism, and act as a member of the assessment panel for performances and productions from September 2025.

Interviews will take place in person on 28 August 2025.
What You Will Do
- The dance lecturer works closely with the Dance Coordinator to ensure excellence in dance training.
- To teach and co-ordinate modules as agreed with the Academic Manager or Module Co-ordinator
- To undertake all teaching related administration in a timely manner
- Participate in course development and curriculum enhancement initiatives

- Extensive knowledge of dance training in their specialist area, relevant industry experience and highly developed communication skill.
- Degree or formal qualification in related subject area
- Professional experience and knowledge in the subject area
- Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to engage, motivate, and support students through clear and inclusive teaching
- Be collaborative and willing to work with a team of managers and lecturers to deliver an excellent student experience and contribute to a thriving work environment.
