Keighley College is looking for a passionate and dedicated Art Course Leader to join our Creative Arts Team. This key role will shape the educational journey of our learners and support them to achieve their full potential. What You Will Do

  • Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for Art Courses.
  • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources and assessment plans and ensure these are in place for all course teaching activity.
  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
  • Maintain high quality and effective delivery across the course team.
  • Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
  • Lead IQA and EV visits.

About You

  • Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE).
  • Has a relevant highest-level vocational qualification or degree in a teaching subject.
  • Is a passionate and experienced art educator with a strong background in creative practice and teaching.
  • Has a solid understanding of a range of artistic disciplines such as drawing, painting, sculpture, or digital media, and is confident in designing and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons.
  • Is highly organised and capable of planning structured courses, setting clear learning objectives, and assessing student progress effectively.
  • Is comfortable managing a classroom or studio environment, ensuring it is safe, supportive, and conducive to creativity.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and engaging positively with students.
