22.5 hours per week Monday to Friday – 6:30am to 11am (4.5 hours per day)

Leeds City College are recruiting a Breakfast Chef / Cook to support the catering service at the Points Cross building site for the United Living Project. This is a fixed term role due to end December 2025. Points Cross is a commercial site, the unit will be staffed by apprentices and students on work experience.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Breakfast Chef / Cook to assist in our kitchen operations. The role involves preparing and serving breakfast in the morning, ensuring all items are well-presented, and delivered promptly to customers. Following the breakfast service, you will help with setting up and getting ready for the lunch service, including food prep, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the kitchen team to ensure a smooth and efficient transition between meal services.

What You Will Do

  • To support the catering service at the Points Cross building site for the United Living Project.
  • This will involve preparing and cooking the food, service the site operatives and general cleaning duties.
  • Maintaining the food safety standards within the unit, completing all relevant documentation and adhering to all applicable legislation.
  • Creating a food order to ensure sufficient stock is delivered to the unit to meet the daily requirements.
  • Identifying any additional opportunities to increase the income of the department through the United Living Site.

About You

  • Level 1 English and Maths (or equivalent) or willingness to complete.
  • Level 2 in Food Preparation is desirable.
  • Previous experience in cooking breakfasts
  • Good communication skills
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
  • Previous experience in working in a kitchen environment and preparing food.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
