And you can play your part too - we're pleased to tell you about an opportunity for an experienced leader to head our Direct Mortgage Unit (DMU) and shape the future of our direct mortgage strategy.
How you'll make a difference. In this role, you'll hold end-to-end accountability for our remote mortgage advice proposition, ensuring it operates with the highest standards of regulatory integrity, customer protection and a positive service experience. You will lead the strategic and operational development of the DMU, operating in a fast-paced and continually evolving regulatory landscape, while ensuring full alignment with:
- FCA rules and guidance - including MCOB, Consumer Duty and vulnerable customer requirements
- The Certification Regime - with responsibility for ensuring certified colleagues meet fitness and propriety expectations
- Conduct Risk Frameworks - robust oversight ensuring advice, service, and customer outcomes are consistently delivered to FCA standards
You'll also be accountable for delivering a customer‑centric mortgage offering, driving continuous improvement in productivity, processes and colleague capability. You will work closely with senior colleagues, commercial partners and cross‑functional teams, building strong internal and external relationships and acting as a visible ambassador for the Society.
What will you bring to the role? Credible senior leader with significant experience of leading operational change within a regulatory environment, particularly in contexts where customer protection and conduct are critical. Demonstrable success in delivering positive customer and commercial outcomes in complex, high‑stakes environments. Strong leadership skills with the ability to role model, care, connect and coach to drive performance, change, positive engagement and delivery against challenging objectives. Strong strategic planning and stakeholder management capability, with the confidence to influence decisions at all levels. A rigorous approach to governance, risk management and ensuring high‑quality operational delivery. Fully CeMAP qualified.
