And you can play your part too – join our dedicated Direct Mortgage team as a Mortgage Assessor, to give our members the great service we pride ourselves on via our telephony channel. The role will be based on site for the first 6 months at our Cobalt Office, just 10 minutes away from the vibrant city of Newcastle and then will have flexibility for home working 2‑3 days per week. Our Direct Mortgage Department is open Monday to Friday 8am‑6pm and Saturdays 9am‑5pm and shifts will be between those times.
As a Mortgage Assessor you will be the voice of Leeds Building Society, providing guidance on our mortgage products and services, helping our customers buy their own home. This is a telephone‑based role where you will be required to build rapport and trust with your customers. You will be responsible for assisting our customers with all of their initial mortgage enquiries, which will include conducting Agreement In Principle appointments (establishing mortgage criteria eligibility & affordability) for residential mortgage customers, prior to them receiving advice from a qualified Mortgage Consultant. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to start your mortgage career with us which could lead to you completing your CeMAP accreditation, an industry recognised qualification.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Partial CeMAP (or equivalent) and/or commitment to study for the full qualification
- Previous experience within a customer service role (essential)
- Experience within financial services or a regulated environment (preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided)
- Experience of working with mortgages (preferred but not essential)
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple sources of information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record in achieving objectives and performance measures
