We've been helping our members save for their future and buy their own home since 1875. Join us and you'll play a big role in helping us to put home ownership within reach of more people, generation after generation. It's a purpose that drives everything we do. And you can play your part too - as Senior UAT Test Lead, you'll bring a strong business lens to quality across our Core Banking Transformation programme, enabling safe, evidence-based go-live decisions.
We are seeking an experienced Senior UAT Test Lead on an 18 month secondment to play a pivotal role in our Core Banking Transformation, the largest programme of change in our 150-year history. You will be accountable for ensuring the solution is fit for business use prior to go-live, so colleagues can operate it safely and confidently at implementation. You'll define the UAT strategy, set clear entry and exit criteria, and own the UAT operating model.
You'll lead a team of direct reports and a wider test community (25+ matrix/indirect testers) comprising Society colleagues and third-party consultants, creating the conditions for disciplined execution, robust governance, transparent reporting, and objective assessments of readiness and risk. UAT will validate critical customer and colleague journeys; end-to-end processes across functions; and exception handling, failure scenarios, agreed workarounds and the operational controls required to run the business safely. You'll lead robust defect triage and prioritisation, and provide clear, decision-grade reporting on readiness, residual risk and recommended actions to senior stakeholders in the Society.
What will you bring to the role?
- Senior leadership of UAT for large-scale, complex transformation programmes (ideally within a regulated environment).
- Strong understanding of business operations and end-to-end processes (not solely technology delivery).
- Experience producing formal UAT exit positions that support executive, evidence-based go-live decisions.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and coordinate large groups of business testers and SMEs, while operating at pace and under pressure.
- Excellent senior stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to provide constructive challenge when required.
And in return, you'll get the best from us:
- Hybrid working - 2 days per week in the office
- Annual bonus of up to 20%
- Matched pension contributions up to 10%
- 30 days holiday, plus bank holidays and holiday purchase scheme
- Private Medical Insurance
We'll give you a place to belong with the support to learn, develop and shape a meaningful career.
Why choose us?
Our business is centred around our people. Our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do, as shown by our Inclusive Employers Gold accreditation in 2023 and 2025. We're committed to equal opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability or gender identity.
You'll be joining a truly purpose-focused culture which helped us win the Leading with Purpose award at the 2023 Business Culture Awards. This recognises how we've embedded our purpose with our colleagues, and the actions we've taken to put home ownership within reach of more people, generation after generation.
Why wait? Apply now. We'd love to hear from you. But don't wait around - we may close the advert early and we'd hate for you to miss out.
