How you\’ll make a difference

You will develop innovative approaches to support the ongoing optimisation of risk, reward and operational efficiency using data and technology. You will lead the maintenance of the Lending Policy and supporting control framework.

Lead assurance activity related to the appropriateness and operational effectiveness of the Lending Policy. You will be the model owner for BTL and Residential affordability models. You will manage a small team, developing their skills and experience to support the creation of a high performing team of credit risk specialists.

What will you bring to the role?

  • A wealth of working experience in financial services credit risk management, ideally with experience within the Mortgage Market.
  • Strong, proven analytical skills, including experience of SAS/SQL and/or Python.
  • Proven experience of identifying, recommending and supporting implementation of credit decision strategy change.
  • Experience of working across teams on multiple projects, providing Credit Risk expertise support and ensuring appropriate awareness of Credit Risk to other areas of the business.
  • Detailed knowledge of mortgage products, lending policy, and mortgage credit risk controls.
  • Experience of building Mortgage Affordability Models.
  • Experience of presenting change recommendations to Senior Management and Committees for approval.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, both written and verbal.
  • A degree, ideally in a numerate discipline (e.g., Maths, Statistics).
  • Strong experience of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint capabilities and usage.
