To support the Air traffic Control team, we are looking to recruit Clearance Delivery Officers to join Leeds Bradford Airport, to assist in providing an outstanding and seamless service.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • This is an entry level role into a career in Air Traffic Control
  • The CDO is responsible to the Senior CDO for the provision of general assistance to the on duty ATCOs to ensure the safe, expeditious and efficient provision of the Air Traffic Service.
  • Provide specialist operational support to the ATCOs in both Tower and Radar positions.
  • Provide Clearance Delivery function in VCR in support of the Aerodrome ATCO.
  • Liaise with other operational departments.
  • Provide Meteorological observations and dissemination via the METCOM.
  • Maintain currency of MET certification.
  • Carry out simulator pilot duties where trained.
  • Other Operational Support Assistant duties as directed by management.
  • To maintain the highest possible standards, professionalism and customer focus when representing the department and the Airport.
  • Performing safety duties in accordance with the LBA Safety Management Manual.

Person Specification

  • Working Experience in an ATC environment
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office software
  • Basic knowledge of airport and aircraft operations
  • Self-motivated, flexible approach and attitude
  • Ability to manage own workload
  • Work well under pressure
  • Met Observers Certificate Air Ground Radio Operators Licence (desirable)
  • Ability to work at one team , working together for the business
  • Desire to be the best and excel in all they do
  • Always willing to do the right thing with strong customer service focus.
  • Developed leadership skills
  • Capable of independently managing tasks and responsibilities in high-pressure settings
  • Good written/verbal communication skills
  • Good computer literacy
  • Shifts: 6 on 3 off – 37 hours per week (Rotational shifts)

Due to security checks required for this role, all candidates will be subject to a basic criminal record check and must be able to provide a continuous five year checkable work history with verified gaps in employment.
