Overview

The Safety and Environmental Health Team within the School of Health at Leeds Beckett University delivers a diverse portfolio of professionally accredited programmes, including our CIEH-accredited Degree Apprenticeship in Environmental Health, MSc Environmental Health provision, and a Practical Food Inspection Course. We also host the CIEH Practical Food Inspection Examination for both internal and external candidates.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Health Practitioner (EHP) to join our academic team as a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Health. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development and delivery of high-quality, practice-led teaching across our Environmental Health programmes, supporting students and apprentices to develop the knowledge, skills and professional competencies required for contemporary practice.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and assess undergraduate, postgraduate and apprenticeship placements in Environmental Health.
  • Develop and enhance curriculum for Environmental Health programmes.
  • Engage with industry partners and employers to support student learning and employability.
  • Contribute to the improvement of academic provision and relevant activities within the wider School of Health.
  • Participate in the evaluation and accreditation processes of programmes.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in food safety, food standards and imported food controls.
  • Relevant professional accreditation (e.g., CIEH).
  • Experience in teaching or adult learning preferred.
