This year we have had considerable recruitment success for our Law Master Programmes and are recruiting a Level 7 LLM Dissertation Supervisor to support supervising Master Level Law Dissertations.
Dissertation supervisionDissertation supervision will take place from May to October 2026. The supervision is done online (through MS Teams meetings) and/or via e-mail correspondence. Supervisors are expected to maintain regular contact with their students, to provide guidance and written feedback on a maximum of 2 chapters of students’ work and to mark the final submitted dissertation providing individual written feedback upon marking.
Dissertation topics cover various areas of law; however, as our suite of Academic LLMs concentrate on International, Commercial and Human Rights Law, expertise and ability to supervise the following areas will be useful:
- WTO Law, including tariff/non-tariff barriers, GATT, SPS, TBT, anti-dumping, dispute resolution, regional trade agreements, tariff/trade wars.
- Economic sanctions;
- EU and UK Competition Law and market abuse
- UK-EU post-Brexit trade relations and TCA
- Digital Trade and e-commerce (GDPR, CCPA, EU AI Act), cross-border digital transactions; cross-border data transfer
- Private International Trade Law, including international commercial contracts, CISG, UNIDROIT, UNCITRAL; Bill of Lading; Artificial Intelligence in international trade
- International Commercial Arbitration; enforcement of arbitral awards
- Money laundering and tax evasion
- Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence and corporate social responsibility
- International Trade sanctions; climate-related trade restrictions
- Consumer rights and abuse
- United Nations, International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights protection, Geneva Conventions, ICC, modern armed conflicts and international warfare.
Applicants should be suitably qualified and have experience of Level 7 Law teaching and research supervision.
