We are seeking to appoint an End User Device Specialist (12-month fixed term contract) to support the delivery of a large-scale device replacement programme across the University. This role will sit within the Digital Services Support Services team (Second Line IT Support) and will focus on the deployment of new Windows devices and the removal of legacy IT equipment across both campuses.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate directly with staff to plan and deliver device replacements, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption.
  • Gather user requirements, build and configure devices using standard deployment tools, and physically install equipment to a high standard.
  • Safely decommission legacy devices in line with university policies.
  • Work within an established project plan, managing a defined stream of activity and collaborating with colleagues across Digital Services.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Experience of working within an IT support environment is essential.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience installing and configuring end-user devices.
  • Experience of large-scale Windows deployments using tools such as Microsoft Configuration Manager and other enterprise deployment technologies would be advantageous.
