Are you looking for an opportunity to lead a team which makes a real contribution to student success? We are looking for a dynamic and confident Academic Skills Manager to lead our new Academic Skills Team, which provides academic and digital skills support to students at Leeds Beckett University.
The Team supports the development of a wide range of academic, information and digital skills and supports students to learn independently, become critical thinkers, develop IT and workplace skills, manage transitions, write assignments, find and use information and data, use AI appropriately and much more.
You will provide leadership for all aspects of the service, including in‑curriculum teaching and elective opportunities, as well as direct line management for 12 staff members. You will build strong partnerships with academic and professional services colleagues to ensure the delivery of high quality academic and digital learning opportunities for all which meet the changing needs of our diverse university community.
You will drive innovation and best practice in academic and digital skills learning and teaching within the University. You should have evidence of effective leadership and management skills and the confidence to lead a team through times of change. You should have a flexible and innovative approach, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to forge effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
This role is campus‑based, spending time at both our City and Headingley campuses, with limited home working a possibility.
