Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician role, predominantly working for Nationwide hospitality chains, although most sites are in London. The technician will diagnose and repair faults on a range of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial and related environments. Responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance, carrying out emergency call-outs, and completing installations or upgrades as required. The role involves conducting system checks, testing components, documenting work performed, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. The technician will interact with clients on-site, explain findings and recommendations clearly, and support high standards of customer satisfaction while working closely with the wider engineering and help desk team.

Qualifications

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including fault-finding on HVAC systems and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Experience with maintenance & repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, including field service work.
  • Proficiency in preventive maintenance, including scheduled inspections, cleaning, and performance checks to minimize downtime.
  • Knowledge of EPA or equivalent environmental and refrigerant handling regulations, with relevant certifications where applicable.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and represent the company professionally on-site.
  • Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, or building services (or equivalent experience).
  • Solid understanding of health and safety standards and safe working practices on client sites.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to client locations as required.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and respond to occasional out-of-hours or emergency call-outs.
