Lee Marley Group are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join our Scaffold Division. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong scaffold professional with extensive leadership experience to work closely with the safety team and oversee scaffold operations. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, highly experienced in scaffolding, with proven man-management skills, and able to lead from the front while maintaining the highest health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting site visits twice weekly, recording findings in reports using specialist software (Procore).
- Auditing scaffold documentation, including design drawings, compliance certificates, manufacturer info, task briefings, RAMS, tie test reports, and handover certificates.
- Assessing compliance with operational scaffold activities and recommending action plans.
- Coordinating and communicating findings with Supervisors, Contracts Managers, and clients.
- Providing guidance on scaffold matters to meet current industry standards.
- Reporting unsafe practices and taking ownership of health & safety duties on LMB Scaffold projects.
- Leading and assisting in accident/incident investigations as required.
- Monitoring PPE, FPE, tools, and tethers, ensuring weekly inspections are completed.
- Preparing and issuing internal health & safety alerts highlighting issues and sharing best practice.
- Delivering internal training, e.g., face fit testing, manual handling.
- Attending client health and safety meetings as required.
- Assisting with external audits, including Scaffold Association and ISO 45001 compliance.
- Completing prequalification documentation to support securing client work.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in the UK scaffolding industry with a strong hands-on background.
- CISRS Advanced Scaffolder and Advanced Scaffold Inspection certified.
- Previous supervisory or management experience leading teams on scaffolding projects.
- Excellent knowledge of NASC guidance and UK scaffold industry standards.
- Strong man-management and team leadership skills; ability to motivate and guide staff.
- Minimum applicable health & safety qualifications; IOSH Technical membership required, certified member preferred.
- Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Safety Net Fan qualification.
- Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
