This is an Assistant Finance Manager role with a primary focus on Accounts Payable (AP), financial reporting, compliance, and team leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end AP function, leading month-end and year-end closing processes, supporting budgeting and financial planning, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. The role also involves collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and the Hong Kong headquarters, driving process improvement initiatives, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the finance operations of the company's property investment business.

LKK Sauce business unit – To manage the accounts payable team, supervise treasury function, internal control and support finance projects and ad hoc tasks.

HX 3 property business unit - To supervise the finance and accounting function in the property investment company, ensure the accurate and efficient preparation and management of finance related matters between all relevant parties, both internally and externally.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Management and Supervision
    • Manage overall Accounts Payable function including invoice processing and payments.
    • Assist the Function Head to supervise Finance & Accounting team in property investment business HX 3, provide support to subordinates and resolution of issues.
    • Comply with applicable approved accounting standards and corporate policies and procedures in relation to Finance & Accounts.
    • Work and communicate with different stakeholders both internal and external to achieve company objectives and targets.
    • Ensure accounting records are prepared in accordance with the Local Accounting Standard / Companies Act.
    • Understand and inform Local team and Headquarter of any changes in accounting, taxation, secretarial and industrial practices in local zone.
    • Interact with Hong Kong Head Quarter to provide financial reports and support.
    • Be the key person in Accounts payable related process improvement projects.
  • Budget
    • Be one of the key persons in the budgetary process.
    • Lead the month end and year end closing and preparation of statutory and management reports to both Internal & External auditors in property investment business HX 3.
    • Manage the month end closing tasks in relation to accounts payables.
  • Analysis
    • Assist and support the analysis to identify opportunity, risks and profitability.
  • Operation
    • Manage accounts payable and cash flow.
    • Assist in bank accounts management, banking facilities or exposure.
    • Assist in internal control management.
    • Review VAT, CIS returns and other government statistical returns as required.
  • General
    • Responsible for the effective safeguard of company assets.
    • Ensure that taxation regulations are adequately complied with.
    • Coordinate the annual audit processes and tax compliance.
    • Support and drive improvements in efficiencies and on any process improvements identified.
    • Other Ad Hoc duties and projects as assigned by the company and the Group.

Education & Experience

  • Qualified accountant/Final stage in qualification, with a University degree in Accountancy or related disciplines.
  • 7+ years of working experience with a minimum of 2 years of solid management experience.
  • Preferably previous experience in FMCG and property management.

Requirements & Skills

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Sound financial accounting, controllership and risk management skills.
  • Analytical mind and good business sense, able to interpret, use and draw conclusions from financial and other business related data.
  • Independent and well organized, highly initiative to take ownership to deliver required result within deadline.
  • Support the business in a hands-on manner in a hybrid technical/commercial role.
  • Team Player with energy and passion to drive change and to really make a difference.
  • Has experience in system implementation.
  • Ability to sufficiently use key software packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Understand Mandarin or Cantonese is desirable.
  • Prior experience in SAP is an advantage.
