Warehouse & Distribution Manager

Leading flooring distributor | North West England Full-time, permanent We are a leading flooring distributor in the North West, supplying trade customers across the region. We need an experienced Warehouse & Distribution Manager to own the warehouse, stock and delivery operation. This is not a first management job, a store-supervisor step-up, or a role for someone whose warehouse experience is mainly picking, driving or covering shifts. Only apply if you have already run a warehouse and delivery operation of this type. Do not apply unless you can show all of the following • Proven experience managing warehouse and delivery staff (rostering, performance, daily plan) — not only working in a warehouse • Hands-on ownership of goods in, putaway, picking, loading and goods out • Strong stock control: location accuracy, damage/shrinkage reduction, product stored correctly and ready for trade supply • Experience running a trade or distribution delivery operation (daily routes, vehicle loading, delivery issues) • High housekeeping standards on warehouse, yard and vehicles, plus health & safety and safe loading • Comfortable using warehouse/stock systems • Full UK driving licence • You can work with sales and suppliers so the right product is in the right place, and you treat trade customers as the reason the warehouse exists Flooring, building materials or similar trade-distribution experience is a strong advantage. Retail shop-floor, e-commerce packing-only, or “I have worked in warehouses” without management of stock and deliveries is not a match. The role • Lead, roster and manage the warehouse and delivery team • Own goods in, putaway, picking, loading and goods out • Keep stock accurate, correctly stored and ready for trade supply • Plan and oversee daily deliveries • Keep warehouse, yard and vehicles to a high housekeeping standard • Enforce health & safety, vehicle checks and safe loading • Work closely with sales and suppliers • Deal with shortages, delivery issues and customer problems promptly • Set the standard on the floor — this is hands-on management, not a desk job What we offer • Permanent full-time role with a leading North West flooring distributor • Competitive salary, depending on experience • Company benefits (to be confirmed) • A site and team you can take ownership of How to apply Send your CV and a short note on why you are suitable if you cannot demonstrate the required experience, please do not apply.
