I’m currently working with a well-established specialist contractor within the interiors and joinery sector who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to deliver a major life sciences fit out project in Oxford. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, technically complex interior packages across commercial and specialist sectors. The Role
You will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of a significant life sciences scheme, overseeing all aspects of project execution from pre-start through to completion. This is a hands-on delivery role requiring strong leadership, excellent planning capability, and a sharp focus on programme control. You’ll be coordinating internal teams, subcontractors, consultants, and the client to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of project delivery on a large-scale life sciences fit out
- Development, management, and drive of detailed construction programmes
- Coordination of site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and design information
- Chairing site meetings and providing clear, accurate progress reporting
- Monitoring programme performance and proactively managing delays or risks
- Ensuring quality, health & safety, and commercial objectives are met
- Managing stakeholder relationships at all levels
- Supporting procurement schedules and material lead-in times
- Working closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure smooth delivery
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within fit out, interiors, or specialist joinery
- Strong track record delivering commercial or life sciences / lab-based projects (preferred)
- Excellent programme management and planning skills – this is essential
- Confident communicator with strong leadership ability on site
- Commercially aware with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Able to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
