The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of planned maintenance projects from inception through to final account. Working closely with operational teams and clients, you will ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining excellent standards of service. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing project costs from tender stage through to final account
- Preparing valuations, cost reports, and forecasts
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Managing variations and change control
- Producing and agreeing final accounts
- Ensuring compliance with contract conditions
- Supporting monthly financial reporting
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Working closely with project managers and site teams to ensure commercial and operational alignment
About You
We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware professional with experience in social housing planned maintenance or refurbishment projects. You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing, planned maintenance or construction
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Strong IT and reporting skills
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management are desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
