Material Controller

Ledwood Engineering is recruiting an experienced Material Controller to join our team at Point of Ayr Gas Terminal, Talacre, North Wales.

This is an opportunity to support Eni's Liverpool Bay Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Transport & Storage Project, part of the HyNet North West decarbonisation programme.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the receipt, inspection, storage, tracking and distribution of materials, ensuring full traceability, compliance with project specifications and timely availability to support construction activities.

Key responsibilities include:

• - Checking incoming deliveries against purchase orders and specifications.
• - Maintaining accurate inventory records, material registers and stock control systems.
• - Coordinating material inspections with QA/QC personnel.
• - Managing material storage, preservation and distribution.
• - Monitoring critical materials and resolving stock discrepancies.
• - Preparing material reports and maintaining auditable documentation.
• - Liaising with site management, engineering, procurement teams and suppliers.
• - Ensuring compliance with site safety procedures and relevant UK standards.

The position is site-based, starting ASAP for approximately 18-24 months, with overtime and applicable allowances available.

• - Previous experience as a Material Controller or in a similar role within the oil and gas, nuclear or major construction industries.
• - Experience working in an operational construction site environment.
• - Strong understanding of material receipt, inspection, storage, preservation and inventory control.
• - Experience maintaining material registers, tracking systems and accurate stock records.
• - Knowledge of material traceability, project specifications and quality documentation.
• - Confident using Microsoft Excel, Word and electronic inventory systems.
• - Good organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• - Ability to safely undertake manual material handling duties.
• - Valid CCNSG Safety Passport.
• - Valid Safety Critical Medical required for site induction.
• - Must have the right to work in the UK.
