The predicted salary is between 40000 - 45000 £ per year.

We are seeking to employ a Sous Chef to join our small established team in a great restaurant nestled in the heart of the South Downs, 10 minutes from the market town of Petworth. The ideal candidate will have at least proven experience working in a similar role, ideally with Michelin background with knowledge of the preparation and control of fresh stocks and menus.

Candidates will be expected to perform the following tasks in their role:

  • To run the kitchen day to day in the head chef's absence.
  • Organise, prepare and control a section within the kitchen, including ordering, stock rotation and mis-en-place.
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 (minimum) and knowledge of the Safer Foods, Better Business initiative.
  • Excellent man management and communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and driven, and engage with both a kitchen and Front of House team.
  • Monitoring portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
  • Ensure daily Health and Safety standards are met.
