The Team
You will join the Engagement Team, a vital squad whose purpose is to empower the business to ideate and implement initiatives designed to boost user engagement within the Ledger Wallet. The team is focused on driving value by increasing user interaction with key features and streamlining activation for new users. We operate in a collaborative Agile environment, regularly shipping value to our customers.
The Role
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you won't just be writing code; you will be identifying the right problems to solve. You will extend your influence to help the team deliver, taking end‑to‑end ownership for features from start to finish, from inputting into initial design all the way through to implementation and delivery. You will work on Ledger Wallet (React.js, Electron, React Native), using your experience to make trade‑offs that have the highest impact on customers as efficiently as possible.
- Engineering & Delivery: Use your expertise to iterate, relying on strong instincts to pragmatically drive the right outcomes while balancing speed and depth. You will be trusted to lead business‑critical projects, writing high‑quality code that focuses on meaningful outcomes.
- Technical Design: Be comfortable with ambiguity and adept at navigating product challenges. You will actively input into shaping technical vision, ensuring solutions consider scalability and reliability, and thrive in early ideation stages by sharing work‑in‑progress to gather feedback early.
- Quality & Best Practices: Set a high bar for collaboration and sound decision‑making. You will manage technical debt pragmatically, strategically balancing resilience and testing with the need to make quick trade‑offs to ship products that prioritize impact.
- Mentoring: Work collaboratively as part of a team of high‑performing engineers with the aim of levelling‑up those around you. You will conduct code reviews and provide actionable feedback to help junior engineers improve.
- Collaboration: Engage closely with Product Managers and Designers to better understand what problems we can solve. You will prioritise clear communication, from well‑written proposals to clear commit messages and pull requests.
What We’re Looking For
- Technical Proficiency: Experience building production‑ready applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.js. Experience with React Native and Electron is a strong plus.
- Consumer Product Background: Prior experience working on consumer products. Industries such as Fintech or Crypto are preferable but not mandatory.
- Ownership: A track record of acting as a "go‑to" person. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can define problems clearly, thinking big but scoping small to ensure delivery.
- Product Mindset: A strong customer‑focused approach to building software. You are used to prioritising outcomes and impact over all else and interacting with stakeholders to understand their needs.
- Quality Focused: You proactively admit mistakes and focus on maintaining and improving documentation. You make pragmatic decisions about testing levels to ensure confidence without slowing down velocity.
- Agile Experience: Comfortable working in a Scrum environment with a focus on continuous delivery and improvement.
