You are an experienced Qualified Environmental professional, who will support all aspects of the environmental program for the Project, including the development and implementation of all plans, procedures and reports required to ensure compliance and to monitor, audit and verify such compliance; and any terms and conditions associated with environmental permits and plans on the Project. You are a problem solver and continuously look for innovative solutions that can be utilized on projects. This is a site-based position in Surrey, BC, supporting our infrastructure division.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supporting all aspects of Ledcor's environmental program for the Project Work, including overseeing the environmental auditing program.
- Ensuring environmental issues and requirements are met in accordance with the Design-Builder's Environmental Obligations.
- Maintaining working relationships with relevant Project team members including field personnel, Client's Representatives, Environmental Authorities and Interested Parties.
- Taking a support role in internal environmental design reviews including development of mitigations and corrective actions, acceptable accordance with the Design-Builder's Environmental Obligations and Environmental Regulations.
- Preparing and submitting to the Client's Representative all plans, reports and documents required by Design-Builder's Environmental Obligations.
- Developing, managing and implementing plans and practices to address project environmental requirements.
- Daily field work with development of environmental monitoring reports.
- Water and soil sampling.
Qualifications
- 5 or more years of relevant experience in environmental management, experience with major projects in light rail transit construction and urban settings would be an asset.
- Demonstrated experience submitting applications and operating under relevant federal and provincial permits.
- Background in monitoring and auditing environmental practices and performance.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental and waste legislation, standards, and effective industry practices.
- Knowledge of construction site erosion and sedimentation controls and BMP's.
- Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Work Conditions
- Daily Field responsibilities.
- Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends.
- Must reside in the Lower Mainland Area or willing to relocate.
Compensation
$68,800.00 - $94,600.00. This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
