About the Group Exercise Instructor Role
As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be at the forefront of our Exeter facility, delivering high-quality group exercise sessions and providing exceptional customer service. We are especially interested in instructors who can teach a variety of class types, including Yoga, Pilates, Spinning, Circuits/Bootcamp, or Les Mills programmes. You’ll play a key role in fostering an inclusive, motivating environment where every participant can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver engaging group exercise classes, adapting to a range of interests and abilities
- Supervise facility use during your sessions to ensure a safe and welcoming atmosphere
- Assist with class administration, such as attendance records and feedback collection
- Support high standards of customer service, responding positively to member needs and queries
- Promote upcoming classes and encourage member participation across the timetable
- Ensure all activities comply with health & safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain up-to-date training and qualifications, including participating in ongoing personal development
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised instructor qualification in at least one group exercise discipline (e.g. Yoga, Pilates, Spinning, Circuits/Bootcamp, Les Mills)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach
- Ability to motivate and engage groups of diverse abilities
- Commitment to delivering safe, inclusive, and high-quality sessions
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a leisure or fitness facility
- Additional qualifications in multiple group exercise formats
- First Aid certification and understanding of health & safety best practices
