About the Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, organised and people-focused Event Manager to join our team at Ocean, Exmouth.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves creating memorable experiences and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

From weddings and celebrations to corporate functions and community events, you’ll play a key role in planning, coordinating and delivering exceptional events that keep customers coming back and help establish Ocean as one of the South West’s leading event destinations.

What You'll Be Doing

As Event Manager, you’ll oversee the full event journey from initial enquiry through to delivery and post-event follow-up.

You’ll work closely with clients to understand their requirements, offer advice and guidance, coordinate event details and ensure every aspect of the experience is delivered to the highest standard.

Whether it's a wedding, birthday celebration, conference, charity event or an Ocean-led experience, you’ll make sure every detail is planned and executed seamlessly.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Managing event enquiries and guiding clients through the booking process
  • Conducting venue show rounds and building strong client relationships
  • Planning and coordinating events to ensure they run smoothly and professionally
  • Liaising with operational teams, chefs, suppliers and external partners to deliver exceptional experiences
  • Supporting and developing a varied programme of events throughout the year
  • Working alongside marketing colleagues to promote events and maximise attendance
  • Monitoring event performance, budgets and customer feedback to continually improve the offer
  • Leading by example, supporting colleagues and helping maintain high service standards across the venue
  • Ensuring all events are delivered safely and in line with health, safety and compliance requirements

This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same.
