We are seeking a Project Manager to join our UK Regions Construction team for a major heritage refurbishment project in Manchester City Centre, valued at approximately £300 million. The Project Manager will collaborate with the internal fit-out delivery team to provide technical, commercial, quality, and operational support, ensuring excellence in time, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure, manage, and program key elements of project delivery to achieve optimal outcomes for the client.
  • Maintain consistently high-quality standards and proactively identify quality issues.
  • Review project costs and controls against agreed commercial criteria.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and maintain appropriate records and reports.
  • Recognize and reward safe behaviours and practices.
  • Build and maintain external relationships with clients and contractors to enhance networks.
  • Manage the performance and development of the project team through coaching and mentoring.

Experience & Background

  • CSCS card holder
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering construction projects
  • Strategic thinker with visionary capabilities
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with trust and confidence
  • Understanding of program duration and sequencing of construction works
  • Experience in bid teams and pre-construction planning
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
  • Flexibility in adapting working methods to suit project needs
  • Ability to ensure delivery of work packages and achieve commercial targets

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of technical standards and regulations
  • Familiarity with the JCT form of contract, especially Management Contracting
  • Experience with artisan and specialist trades
  • Knowledge of delivering works in heritage environments (e.g., Listed buildings)
  • Proficiency in digital technology (e.g., Aconex, Sablono, QA tools)
  • MRICS or MCIOB accreditation
