LEC AI is the AI division of London Export Corporation, a private group founded in 1951. We're hiring five paid AI Engineering Interns to work alongside our senior engineers on production AI systems with real commercial deployment from day one.

What you'll work on:

  • Donnie — our agentic AI platform: an executive cognitive digital twin with persistent organisational memory, LLMs, and multi-agent orchestration
  • Bishop — our foundation model for structured operational data, powering a live SaaS platform with commercial deployment already underway
  • New venture builds — AI foundations for new companies launching across the group, from blank page to production in weeks
  • AI across existing businesses — digital twins and intelligent automation for our robotics and drinks distribution operations

You’ll move between the highest-priority initiatives rather than sit on a single project for three months.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate (2nd year+), postgraduate, PhD candidate, or recent graduate in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Strong in Python; experience with LLMs, agents, RAG, or vector databases is a plus, not required
  • A genuine builder — GitHub repos, personal projects, or things you've shipped outside coursework
  • Comfortable in a small, high-autonomy, fast-paced team
  • Available full-time, in-person, 5 days/week, starting 12 August 2026
  • Must already have the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship provided)

What’s on offer:

  • £2,500/month for the 3-month internship
  • Direct mentorship from our Principal AI Architect and senior engineering team
  • Hands-on work on production AI systems with real commercial impact
  • Top performers offered a permanent AI Engineer role (£70,000 starting salary), subject to eligibility
