ABOUT LEC AI

LEC AI is the AI division of London Export Corporation, a private group founded in 1951. The group includes LEC Robotics (sole UK distributor for global robotics brands), LEC Beverages (sole UK distributor of Tsingtao), and a portfolio of new ventures being built under the LEC AI banner.

We are hiring five summer interns to work alongside our senior engineers on production AI systems with real commercial deployment from day one.

WHAT YOU WILL BUILD

  • Real production systems used by real customers. Not toy projects, not slide decks.
  • Donnie - our agentic executive digital twin platform that learns how the people running a company think, holds persistent organisational memory, and turns decisions into reliable execution.
  • Bishop - our data foundation model for structured operational data with a live SaaS layer.
  • AI systems for LEC Robotics and LEC Beverages - digital twins, agentic operations, and intelligent automation across real operational environments.
  • Proof of concept builds for new companies launching inside the group.

STACK

Python, FastAPI, React, Postgres with pgvector, Neo4j, Redis, MinIO, Claude, MCP, OpenRouter, Ollama, multi-agent orchestration, RAG pipelines, vector search, Docker.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Undergraduate (2nd year onwards) or postgraduate at a top UK university.
  • Computer Science, Mathematics, AI, Machine Learning or related discipline - PhD students welcome.
  • Strong Python; familiarity with LLMs, agents, RAG or vector databases is a strong plus.
  • Genuine builder mindset - you ship code on your own time, you have GitHub repos you can point us at.
  • Able to work full time in person, five days a week, June through end of August 2026.
