Lebus Upholstery, established in 1840, has become one of the largest furniture manufacturers of UK produced upholstery, based in North Lincolnshire. We have a modern purpose-built 250,000 square feet factory supplying a wide range of furniture retailers across the UK and Ireland.
Pay: £12.71 per hour plus suite‑equivalent bonus
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 39 hours per week
Schedule: Monday–Thursday: 6:15am–3:00pm, Friday: 6:15am–1:35pm
Location: Queensway Industrial Estate, Dunlop Way, Scunthorpe, DN16 3RN

We’re recruiting a Trainee Frame Assembler to join our busy manufacturing team at Lebus Upholstery. This is a permanent role within our Frame Department, where your work plays a vital part in the quality and success of the finished sofas and chairs that leave our factory. All Lebus sofa frames are handmade on site, using high‑quality materials and traditional craftsmanship supported by modern manufacturing methods. As a Frame Assembler, you’ll help build strong, durable frames that move through the factory and become finished upholstered furniture.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assemble wooden sofa and furniture frames using a range of materials
- Use hand tools and air‑powered tools (including staple guns) alongside adhesives to securely fix components
- Follow detailed work instructions to ensure frames meet specifications and quality standards
- Carry out lifting and manoeuvring of completed frame structures
- Inspect materials and components for damage or defects and report any issues
- Meet production targets while maintaining a high level of quality
- Carry out routine checks on tools and equipment, reporting faults where necessary
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area in line with health and safety requirements
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow between departments
- Take part in training to develop frame assembly skills, tool use, and quality awareness
- Contribute ideas to improve processes, efficiency, or product quality
